Jimmy Choo does H&M::
Jimmy Choo's first ever clothing collection will go on sale in H&M, of all places. It will also feature accessories, footwear and men's bags. Of the collaboration Tamara Mellon said;
"We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men too. Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection - the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out at night".
Jimmy Choo adds instant sex appeal and style to even the simplest outfit and I for one am extremely excited at the fact that I, a mere student, am going to be able to snap up a pair of Choo's. I can hardly contain my excitement, November isn't too long to wait, right?!
Bangers & Fash::
The night I finished my first year at uni and the night before I left Notts was Bangers & Fash at Brownes. It was abit of a last minute decision by the girls to go but definitely worth it. It was a t-shirt fashion show put on by some graphics students from uni and some of the illustrations and designs were really cool. Unfortunately I only had my phone to take pics of the show with and the lighting during the show wasnt great for a camera phone. Just wanted to say well done to Kate (letthemeatkate) who was modelling, you looked wicked :)
Model Spot:: Cristhian Rosa
He has the kind of looks which we're more likely to find in an old black and white film rather than on the street in Brazil or even a recent editorial spread, handy for stylists looking for that classic originality that so easily follows a shoot with Cristhian. I think it's also fair to say he's been working out since he got his foot on the modelling ladder. His mother agency is 40 Graus and did I mention he's only 18?!
Model Spot:: Chloe Belle
20 year old + Argentinean roots= Chloe Belle aka future model magnifique. I think she is simply stunning in a totally obvious way but who cares. She's already done an editorial for Italian Marie Claire, shot by David Bellemere. She's signed to iconic management in Argentian and I'm guna post loads of pics of her, courtesy of The Ones 2 Watch because I think she's someone who will definitely be popping up more frequently on the radar.
emma rea::
I accidently stumbled across Emma Rea's now abandoned blog, I got sucked in by her last post, which detailed her future plans of fashion designing full time and her reasons for coming to the conclusion that she should stop blogging (to concentrate on her label). The whole story interested me so I searched her name because I wanted to see if she had managed to make her mark on the fashion world...and she has.
I have to say I love the gothic glamour vibe I get from her pieces, aptly named 'House of the Holy' they are very individual peices but also feminine and sexy with an edge. Check out her site http://www.emmarea.com/aw09.html I hope to be seeing more of this Australian lady.
hyperreality::
At the moment I'm writing an essay for design and visual culture and whilst doing a bit of research I looked with more depth into hyperreality. I then typed it into google images and this playstation commercial popped up. It got me thinking, what if this was possible? with plastic surgery getting more and more drastic, maybe one day we will be able to shopping for a new head/face/hair type or even body. After all people are always asking for a new body and what the consumer wants the consumer gets, right?
FUGAHUM::
Fugahum is a Japanese brand that I came across a while ago. I particularly like the chosen names for the collections; Doppelganger, Graduated Kingdom, Spiral Distortion and Soft Protector. They evoke visions of fantastical far away fairytales (excuse the alliteration!) which is also portayed through the fashion photography. I love that it's not just the photography and clothing that makes the image interesting either, the composition is extremely well thought out and designed. This is my latest inspiration destination, see what you think...
